Gipsy Princess was built by Steel Craft, Old Northants and was launched as part of the campaign to increase interest eastwards along the Forth and Clyde Canal towards Craigmarloch and beyond. She was launched at Auchinstarry on 26 April 1990 by Councillor Cathie Craigie. She has served, over the years, as a classroom boat for many hundreds of schoolchildren as well as being available for charter trips. She will comfortably carry 12 passengers for trips.
