You can participate in our activities, or simply support our work with your subscription. We want people to enjoy the canal, and that goes as much for society members as for the general public and we have members from as far afield as the USA and Africa.

Members receive a copy of the Society newsletter "Canal News" which gives regular updates of our activities and the opportunity to join us on several member only cruises throughout the year. Volunteering opportunities range from repair and service boat engines, scrape boats, paint boats, maintain grass car park, clean inside of boats, prepare and serve refreshments, fundraising, hosting canal walks and promoting use of canal and surrounding area. From April to September we offer crew training (normally Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm) where you can learn to sail the boats allowing you to become a crew member on our Charters.
