Training Nights commence 18 April 2018         

 

 

 

 

Our Crew Training Nights for the Society Volunteers will begin on our usual Wednesday night on  Wednesday 18 April 2018 at our mooring at Glasgow Road Bridge, Kirkintilloch. New members/volunteers are always welcome. Come along and learn how to steer a canal boat full of passengers.

Our annual members lunch will take place on Saturday 20 January 2018 at the Torrance Inn, Main Street, Torrance. Spaces are limited and for more information contact Maie Semple on maiesemple@btinternet.com or phone/text 07990608942

Paul's walks 

 

     Paul Carter, one of our members will be leading historical walks on various dates over February and March. - Friday 9 February - Heritage Walk taking in Garrel Burn,the Kelvin and the Canal and featuring mining and canal history. Starting from Kilsyth Library, Burngreen, Kilsyth commencing at 1030a.m. Walk is about 3 miles surfaced paths. Time about 2 hours

Sat March 3 there will be a walk in Kirkintilloch as part of East Dunbartonshire History and Heritage week and on Sat 10 March there will be a walk from Twechar Healthy Living Centre. As soon as full details are received they will be added here.

Winter Talk. 

 

   Our February Winter Talk will be from a Ranger at Mugdock Country Park and will commence at 7.30pm in our office at Southbank Marina, Kirkintilloch. As usual tea/coffee will be available before the talk so come early

Our March Winter Talk will be given by two of our members who recently hired a canal boat and had a holiday in Ireland. Their version of "Two men on a Boat" will commence at 7.30pm in our office at Southbank Marina. Tea/coffee available beforehand.

Our well liked Boat Trips from The Stables to Kirkintilloch, Townhead Bridge.                                                         PLEASE CHECK OUR "NEWS" PAGE FOR UPDATES.
We apologise that some Saturdays the trips cannot run due to our commitments to use our boats for other events and we have a limited number of Volunteers to sail the boats.
